If you are unsatisfied with your insurance company regarding storm damage claims, you have the right to challenge their decision. Annual flu shots and updated vaccinations are available at most local pharmacies and health clinics, so schedule your appointments today. Intern Farewell
Farewell to my district office’s amazing Summer interns, Mahima and Zach. Last month, they presented their capstone project and I was very impressed with their work! Throughout their internship they assisted my office by volunteering at events, making social media content, helping with the monthly newsletter, and more. Back-to-School Supply Drive for DCFS Youth in Care
Thanks to the partnership of Senator Feigenholtz, Alderman Lawson, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), and all the donations from members of the community, our Back-to-School Supply Drive to support youth in DCFS care was a big success! As schools started back up, numerous youth in DCFS care were able to start the school year strong.

19th District Police Department National Night Out
Olivia and Zach had a great time tabling at the 19th District Police Department for National Night Out. They enjoyed connecting with local law enforcement officials and engaging with neighbors on such a beautiful day. Thank you 19th District Police Department for having us!
Summer Shred Event
Team Croke joined Senator Feigenholtz, Commissioner Degnen, Sheriff Dart, and Alderman Knudsen for a paper shredding, electronic recycling, and drug takeback event. The event resulted in over 3,000 pounds of paper being safely shredded, dozens of electronics returned, and a variety of prescription medications taken-back.
Northalsted Market Days
With great music, food, and drinks, Northalsted Market Days was a blast! Henry and Mahima had a great time speaking to neighbors and handing out government resources and official swag. Even heavy rain could not stop this party!
Bike the 2nd Ward
Henry attended Alderman Hopkins’ annual Bike the 2nd Ward Event. With such great weather, it was the perfect day to be outside and explore the 2nd Ward alongside other cyclists.
Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Facility Visit
I visited the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation alongside State Representative Kevin Olickal. I got a firsthand look at the high quality of care that has been helping people with addiction for more than three decades. Thank you to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation for the opportunity to visit and discuss the importance of comprehensive behavioral health care.
2nd Ward Shred Event
Henry joined Alderman Hopkins, Sheriff Dart, Secretary Giannoulias, Senator Feigenholtz, Committeeman Egan, and My Parking for a paper shredding, e-recycling, and pharmaceutical product disposal event. The event was a huge success with constituents from across the Ward shredding paper, e-recycling electronics, and returning prescription medications.

Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services
Medicaid customers, the federal government is enacting changes that may affect some Medicaid customers starting January 2027. Many customers will not be affected. Illinois Medicaid will contact you if these changes apply to you. Make sure they can reach you. If you receive mail from the State of Illinois, open it right away. 19th District Police Department Scam Alert
Following a string of fake charity scams, the 19th District Police Department is encouraging individuals to stay vigilant when approached by an individual raising money for a fake cause. Individuals can protect themselves by not giving their phone to strangers and keeping an eye on their bank statement.
Illinois State Treasurer
The Illinois Treasurer’s office is currently safeguarding over $5 billion in unclaimed funds. These assets are held indefinitely until they are claimed by the original owners or their heirs. Illinois Department of Human Services
Illinois SNAP customers who lost their benefits can find out if they qualify for an exemption or how to regain eligibility and meet the new work requirements by working, volunteering, or participating in a training or education program by clicking here.
FRESH Program
Illinois SNAP customers who have lost, or reduced, SNAP benefits due to SNAP work requirements will be given $400 cash support. To learn more about the FRESH Program, click here.
Illinois Secretary of State
Following the signing of HB4843 into law, Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias launched a pilot program to make disability placards easier to obtain. Specifically, the measure allows legal guardians transporting individuals with a disability who are incapable of driving to be issued meter-exempt disability parking placards. Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved a disaster declaration for Cook and Will Counties for damage resulting from recent severe storms. Residents and business owners in the contiguous counties of DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Lake, are also eligible to apply for the SBA’s long-term, low-interest disaster loans.
Please monitor your respective county’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for the latest information regarding Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs), MARCs may provide residents with access to in-person assistance and resources related to storm recovery. To read the SBA Fact Sheet, click here.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has a variety of grants available to support members of the community.
Illinois Economic Empowerment Centers
The objective is to create an inclusive business ecosystem for communities that have traditionally faced systemic barriers to entry and growth, including those who have been justice-involved. The Department will award grants to eligible applicants who provide Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Individuals (SEDI) business owners, entrepreneurs and/or dislocated workers with technical assistance, training, and access to resources necessary for their start-ups or existing businesses.

Small Business Development Centers
The Illinois Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) located throughout the state provide information, confidential business guidance, training, and other resources to start-up and existing small businesses. In addition, the Illinois SBDCs help clients with securing needed business capital, marketing, exporting, commercialization of new ideas, development of innovative products and services. Client projects range from early-stage, pre-revenue concepts to established business operations.

Crisis Assistance Response & Engagement Program (CARE)
CARE is now operating in all 77 community areas of Chicago. The CARE team provides specialized 911 responses for mental health crises. Available weekdays from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, these behavioral health professionals offer de-escalation, assessments, referrals, and transport.
